FRESH BLACK TRUFFLE:
CONSERVATION
To fully enjoy and make the most of all the qualities of the tuber melanosporum, it is advisable to consume it during the first 10 days after harvesting.
After this time, the best way to keep the truffle for a longer period of time is to store it in a domestic freezer covered with plastic film.
For its consumption, the truffle should be grated frozen and put back in the freezer once the dish has been seasoned or used in any other way. Thus, the conservation can be extended up to a period of one year.
HOW TO USE IT
This product should not be cooked and exposed to high temperatures. To use it, it is recommended to grate or slice the truffle over the dish once it is finished and served.
Other well-known tips are truffle eggs and truffle oil.
To make truffled eggs you will have to put the truffle in a glass jar with eggs in the refrigerator, open the jar once a day and after three days, you will be able to enjoy truffled eggs without even having used the truffle, but don’t forget to grate the truffle over the egg once it has been served. The same steps must be followed to obtain a truffled oil and enjoy truffle slices on toast.
