Together with Thyme honey, it is one of the honeys with the highest natural antibiotic content. It has great properties that make it particularly digestive, antibacterial and with more antioxidants than other honeys.
This honey comes from apiaries located in environments full of chestnut trees in El Bierzo and is therefore unique. The bees make it during the flowering of the chestnut tree and it is usually harvested in July.
Its flavour is sweet like any other honey but its undertone has a salty touch and sometimes a bitter touch if there is heather or bramble in its composition. Our advice is that if you have never tried it… try it at least once! After that you won’t want to change.
Many of you ask us about strong honeys… This honey is strong but the chestnut makes it very smooth. It is not as strong as heather honey but not as soft as flower honey.
It is worth mentioning that this product has been awarded a prize at the Camponaraya Honey Fair, where competitors participated with homemade honeys like ours and with a quality that is very difficult to match.
