Cinco Jotas 100% Iberian Acorn-fed Acorn-fed 100% Iberian Acorn-fed Ham 7-8 kg. Whole piece of 7 to 8 kg. A unique ham with an extraordinary flavour.
Cinco Jotas is recognised all over the world as a brand ambassador of Spanish haute cuisine. Its 100% Iberian acorn-fed pork ham comes from a careful selection of pigs reared free-range in the beautiful pastures of the southwest of the Iberian Peninsula. The natural acorn-fed diet that these pigs receive and the purity of the breed, which is not crossbred with any other species, allows Cinco Jotas to remain faithful to its origins and tradition. This centuries-old method also allows the natural ecosystem in which the pigs grow to be preserved. The Dehesa del Suroeste Peninsular guarantees the best nutrition for the Cinco Jotas Pure Iberian Pig.
In order for the pigs to be reared with full guarantees, the animals travel around 14 km every day in search of the acorns on which they feed. The Cinco Jotas natural cellars are located in Jabugo, in the province of Huelva. The Natural Park of Aracena and Picos de Aroche, which is part of the Dehesas de Sierra Morena UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, is home to the Cinco Jotas wineries and makes them an important privileged place in which a slow and natural curing helps Cinco Jotas hams and Iberian hams to become an exceptional taste experience.
TIPS
Storage: the ham should be kept in a cool, well-ventilated place until it is consumed. After receiving it, it should be removed from its casing and the brown paper that protects it.
In order to cut ham correctly, suitable utensils must be used. A ham holder to place the ham and cut it comfortably, a wide-bladed knife to clean the inside and outside of the piece, a long, flexible ham knife and a sharpener are the basic elements for making the most of each piece. It is very important to leave the cutting station clean and to adequately cover the cutting area. This prevents the piece from rusting. To achieve greater protection of the piece, our recommendation is to cover the exposed area with thin slices of fat from the ham itself.
CONSUMPTION
The combination of Cinco Jotas ham with Osborne wines, such as Fino Quinta and the full range of Jerez wines offers the opportunity to taste the best ham and sublimate the experience with a wine to match.
